Ceramic pickups have been a favorite of hard rock and metal players for decades. Ceramic magnets became more readily available in the late 60s and early 70s just as guitar players were incorporating overdrive and distortion into their sound. Ceramic pickups have a sharp, articulate and saturated tone thatâs a perfect compliment to the SG Special-1âs mahogany body. Pickup selection is made via a standard 3-way pickup selector, and controls include Master Volume and Master Tone, both with classic Black âSpeedâ knobs.
